ABOUT US

We Rise by Lifting Others.

2219550 Alberta Society – is a community based non-profit organization established by immigrants who have a sense of empathy and sympathy for refugees and new immigrants.

Helping one another at a time of difficulty is an old culture we inherited from our parents, and 2219550 Alberta Society had been doing that in our community for many years before it was officially incorporated in 2019.

We have approximately 182 members, including seven board members and 45 volunteers to assist with operations and events. Given the help we got from refugee camps, we decided to form 2219550 Alberta Society as the way to give back and support many others to come out of their current situations in refugee camp.

For several years, most members of 2219550 Alberta Society including all board members once lived in a refugee camp but with the assistance and help from the Canadian we were able to leave.

However, most refugees we left in a refugee camp ten years ago are still there without hope. We are therefore privileged to be the founding members since we have shared the same experience and difficulty.

We owe this country too much for giving us second chance to live again and we wholeheartedly believe the only way to pay it back for what this country did for us is by building a strong, healthy, prosperous, informed, patriotic, caring, and hard-working community that has a positive impact on the country.

It is guided by the slogan, “We rise by lifting others.”
